Anyone out there with Asus P6TD Deluxe

Well I've got a P6TD Deluxe, but I've not got anything in the PCI-E 4x slot so I can only say what I see. The fins of the chipset heatsink are well out of the way of any card you're likely to put in there. If you're going to hit a problem it will be with the base part, which does stick up slightly above the height of the slot. However, looking at the graphics card installed in the adjacent 16x slot it looks like it would just about fit, maybe touching the heatsink base in a couple of places. To be honest I think I'd be more concerned about whatever is in the 4x slot being too close to whatever you have in the 16x slot as that looks like it might be a tight fit too.

One other point is that with all but a very short PCI-E card, using the top slot prevents a fan being added to the chipset heatsink, using the standard fittings provided at least. However measuring the temperature of my heatsink shows a fan doesn't seem to be required for most overclocked setups. I am using a tower cpu cooler orientated towards the rear so there's not much airflow from the cpu fans hence why I tried the extra 40mm fan to the chipset heatsink.

I've got an Asus Essence STX in the top slot of a P6TD Deluxe, not quite the same but that goes in no problem.

Arcane - just to confirm the STX fits in the top PCI-e 4x slot ok ? Reason I ask is because this months Custom PC reviewed the p6td deluxe and said the base of the chipset heatsink interferes with any full length soundcard you might want to put in the top pci-e 4x slot. I know sometimes this mag is less than reliable and just want to check here first before telling my mate to order his stuff. He heard mine and doesn't want the d2x now.

Please can you put up on here if it does work from the pic it looks like the xonar would fit in even if it is slightly raised by the headsink it would still make contact and the edge is quite long as long as its not angled.
