Anyone put a Sata 3 PCIe board on a Sata 2 motherboard??

Well I just installed it on mine as mine was the previous version, and after a reboot I'm still here to tell the tale. It's your call fella, I'm just pointing you in the right direction.

I think if you ask the question here you'll find most people install the Intel drivers. I won't be offended if you ask the others :)

Interesting... If I go to the Asus P5Q Pro drivers... The latest SATA drivers list:-

Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager Driver V8.9.0.1023 for Windows 32/64bit XP & Windows 32/64bit Vista & 32/64bit Windows 7.(WHQL)

Intel(R) AHCI/RAID Driver Disk for Windows 32/64bit XP & Windows 32/64bit Vista & 32/64bit Windows 7.

So isn't that exactly what you're pointing me to, but newer?

So you're link is just a newer version of that?

Yes. It's the same software, only the one they supply is out of date. Asus always were hopeless with updating their website!!

And the fact the original Asus ones were "Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager Driver" doesn't change the fact that I should use the ones your pointing to (which are termed "Rapid")?
