I'm after something a bit like this...

Just wondering if anyone is aware of any other stuff.. Main concern with the example above is:-
1) No where to put the centre speaker as there's a glass door.
2) Would be nice if it we a little wider possibly?

maybe mount the center speaker on a bracket above the lcd, stand does look nice.

I think that would look a bit messy in my lounge... I want the TV to be as subtle as possible. I'm already concerned by the 37" TV I'm getting being too high even on a 40cm or so stand  Yet alone with a speaker balanced on top :)

In an ideal world the example I showed would have an area that does not have a glass door.

On my Sony KV32, I actually took the glass door off (you can do this without it looking odd) and the speaker is straight below the TV then...

a single floating speaker wouldent look that messy would it :p but i see your point im out of idea's then i would have just whacked the speaker above lcd lol

I have open wall space above my TV area apart from a painting... I wouldn't want to introduce any I.T. stuff above TV level :)

Ideally the speaker should be out of site/out of mind :)

It is great I have my HTPC, VHS, DVD, V+ box, centre speaker, Cable modem and router in the bottom. On the top there is enough room for a 32" TV, external speaker, HTPC radiator, external DVD drive, mouse and 2 keyboards (plus nine remotes!) without it being cluttered.

Yup same one I have. Holding a considerble amount of weight. Could be 2cm wider per shelf though, amps just squeeze in.
