I bought online a replacement pair of repacking wraps to do my twin Renegade cans. Renegade recommend that they are repacked approx every 12 months. Mine haven't been done for about 3 years now so its a long overdue job.

Anyhow, I've got it all sat here ready to do, not a time consuming job I predict but I have forgotten to order stainless zip ties to hold the packing in place.

You can get it online in various places but what with the postal strikes etc it could take a while to turn up. Was hoping to source some today so I can get out with mates for a Sunday blat.

Anyone have any idea where you can buy stainless zip/cable ties from the high street?. I looked at Screwfix but they don't appear to have anything.

Or is there something else that can be used?. I was thinking just steel wire wrapped around the packing or something similar?.

Scratch that - Via a bit of Googling I have found that most folk just use masking tape to keep the packing in place while you put it back into the cans, then the masking tape burns off after a few miles with the heat.

So looks like the way to go, off out to spend an afternoon wrestling with a couple of zorst cans. :D

Got sidetracked - went out for a cycle and stopped at pub on way home so didn't get around to starting the great repacking adventure. :p

Been doing some more reading up on it, some folk are saying not to wrap the stuff too tight as it needs to be very slightly loose to absorb the sound pulses properly?.

Lockwire, not a bad idea.....cheers. ;)

Thought so when I was messing about with an old 2 stroker FMF pipe it was full of wadding always wondered what it was looked like it was just cotton wool poked in lol.

Decided to put the tail pipe onto my 4 stroke 250cc 4 stroke crosser lol that made an interesting sound. Esp razzing through tuinnels

I know theyre really thin lol but theyre also tall in the seat so quite good for tall people..
Ill get some more test rides on them when I can but its going to be primarily for track so you are hanging off the side most of the time :p

But im also going to test ride all of the current 600's, see if anything makes me go wow!

Wish I could afford this though, damn its looovely!
