As titled says, anyone had enough of pc/pc gaming and just sold it and now only game on console?

Yeah. It works out much cheaper for me personally, rather than upgrading every year, but it depends how much of a graphics whore you are, and also how much you like/hate using a joypad.

Nah, just stopped upgrading my PC. No games have come out that truly outstrip the capabilities of hardware that's a couple of years old. Tbh i wish i hadn't upgraded from my 8800GT, I'm fairly sure I would have still been happy with that.

I switched from a PS3 as my primary Home Entertainment / Gaming device to a small PC, games are cheaper on the PC and it does a better job at the Media Stuff. Console still used for exclusives. I normally buy into a console around 2 years after release, so the PC should be the primary front room device until then.

I still have my pc, it's got pretty decent hardware and as said you don't need the latest and greatest gfx card etc to play new games
there's just something about the console that is more 'fun' for me though,
got my pc hooked up to the tv and a 360 pad but it still feels better playing the games on the console somehow, eben though the gfx of the pc are better

think it's a kinda subliminal thing, cos you know when playing the xbox it's the same for everyone that's playing it, nothing to do with multiplayer online either,
with the pc, even if i'm happy with the settings I think it's always in the back of my mind!

This is also true. been pretty cheap few years being a PC gamer :)

Sold my PC and bought a laptop/360 back in 2006. Doubt I'd buy another PC now, I can't see myself sitting at a desk to play games in the future. Besides, I'm eagerly awaiting Xbox next and PS4. :D

I've recently done the opposite! I've sold my 360 with Kinect and gone back to PC gaming. After having several 360's since it's release I feel I have reached the end of the 360 era with what it has to offer, both hardware and software.

Me

I didn't sell it as such as the graphics card was only an 8800 GT

but i just couldn't be bothered upgrading it anymore. Sold all the bits and pieces to mates at work for spare PCs / PCs for relatives etc.. and put the cash towards an iMac

Now just make do with consoles for gaming, and i haven't looked back. Its so nice to be able to swap and trade your games in when you get bored / buy a dud. And you don't have to worry about drivers, OS issues, spec worries etc.. its great.

This except I still have my 8800GT.

Since 2007, I only played mmorpgs and the usual RTS games on my PC. I swapped over to a laptop a couple of years ago as this can more than happily handle the RTSs. Not fussed with the mmorpgs now.

I was an avid PC gamer in the past and notable games I upgraded for were Wargasm (so so good), Kingpin, X Beyond the Frontier then X2 and X3, then the usual RTS suspects through to Oblivion in 2006. I gave up as the costs to get Oblivion to run well were futile compared to getting a 360 at the time.

The jump in console graphics from the xbox/ps2 to 360/PS3 has been enough. PC graphics have improved at a more linear rate but back in 02-05 PC graphics were leaps ahead of the last gen consoles.

I always picked the cheapest budget vfm hardware anyway and don’t think I have ever spent more than £130 on a GFX (5900GT, 8800GT).

The graphics don’t bother me as much as the gameplay so I am quite happy with consoles these days and at least I know the games will run and I will spend less in games each year than I would just upgrading my PC.

I don't have a desktop anymore. Bought a decent laptop and monitor for exclusives like SC2, WoW and waiting for Diablo 3 (I guess I like Blizzard then!) but other than that it's there for surfing, music, downloading and apps. I won't upgrade this laptop nor will I ever build another desktop.

Have a PS3 and 360 but 99% of my gaming is on the 360.

This.

Also sold my Eve Online character for £350 to pay for the 360.

And anyone that says console gaming is more expensive is an idiot.

If you buy new and keep your games it is but if you buy smart and sell when your done it's cheaper than a Steam sale. The last few games I've played: Portal 2, bought for £19 and selling it for not much less. Gunstrnger, bought for £20, sold for £16 and I got to keep Fruit Ninja and Dark Souls, bought for £29, sold it for £25.

I have PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. From about 2000-2007, I only had the PC. I'd say if I didn't have a gaming PC now, i probably wouldn't replace it. there nothing PC only that interests me. If I had a £1000 PC, I'd consider selling it but I don't. If I sold my PC and bought a half decent laptop, I wouldn't have much left over so thats pointless. I'll probably wait for the new graphics cards and see whats available for about £130 and if it's worth getting but that's only because I already have the PC. I do still game quite a bit on the PC but I have more than enough console games.

I've started playing most games on PC now after upgrading, and only using the 360 and PS3 for exclusives. Stuff like BF3 and F1 2011 I'm finding are just nicer to play on PC, and console GFX are now starting to look a little rough - I actually found Forza 4 to be quite annoying at how rough it looked after coming from super-high resolutions.

I'll definitely be getting anything that is cross platform on PC from now on.

Pretty much this - I fell off the upgrade wagon , gfx card was a 9600 so that gives an indication of how long ago, my wife bought me an Xbox elite after I raved about Forza having seen it running in a shop, the PC just gathered dust and now sits in the loft horribly out of date.

I do miss the flight Sims though....

Yep.

Went from a gaming laptop as per sig to a 360. Still own the laptop but haven't played a game in the last month. I used to spend upwards of 40 hours a week on the thing. It's only used now to catch up on my TV programs before nodding off to sleep.

It's a slow demise, had a full desktop setup, then went for the laptop convenience, and now have gone for console.

I can put in ANY game, and it'll look fantastic without messing about with setting s etc etc. Love it.

I can sit on my sofa in comfort with my feet up playing, it's great!

Probably spend about 20~ hours at an absolute max on it.
