when i call 999 from my mobile...what exactly happens?
as i understand it the call is answered by an operator from my network who asks me which service i require, then as they know which cell i am using and therefore roughly where in the UK i am, connects me to the nearest fire station/police station/ambulance station to me at that point in time.
primarily @ Dolph but i'm sure there are others that can answer this question.
