Hi, I am on BT broadband using a voyager 210 modem. No issues at all. I do not use the installation CD as I do not like the Yahoo browser rather than the standard internet explorer interface. Instead I just installed the modem using the usb driver from the web.
I am on a package that gives me more connection time than I need and so a letter arrived today giving me the option to change to Total broadband option 2 and save £3 per month.
It includes a Home hub which seems to get mixed opinions. My questions are as follows:

1) How many computers can I connect to it using a wired connection and is this via ethernet connections rather than usb?

2) As I do not like the Yahoo browser is there an option NOT to install it?

3) We have a computer going into a room without a net socket so how good is the wireless connection?

4) Does the Home hub come with any pci cards to get this computer up and running?

5) Is the whole business a waste of time and I should stick with my Voyager 210 but on the other hand this will only run one pc via usb and one pc via ethernet?

Thank you for your thoughts.

Two. But you can always buy a cheap 4-way switch ;)

Using ethernet - you don't have to install anything at all.
Using USB - you have to install the drivers, everything else is optional.

Not bad strength wise. Will go through a couple of walls and a floor. I could never get it working using WPA though. Also the connection dropped out every few minutes which got very annoying.

No. If you don't want to use ethernet, you'll have to buy a PCI Ethernet Adapter (which are very cheap) if your motherboard does not have one built in.

You can switch to Option 2 and still use the Voyager. That would be my advice. Yes, you can only connect one computer via USB. If you want to connect more than one PC via ethernet, have a look at a cheap 4-way switch like I suggested above. That will increase the number of PCs you can have connected via ethernet.

Personally, I got rid of a the home hub and am now using a Voyager 2500v. It's fantastic
