Anyone to recommend a good sonic stage alternative? (NW-A808)

My friend has recently purchased a new Sony Walkman NW-A808 and hates the Sonic Stage software (so do I!).

Any good alternatives to this software that could be recommended, freeware or open source?

there' might be a plugin for winamp, there is for just about everything else lol

why didn't he get an 818??

Thanks for the reply, I will check that out. I don't know why he didn't get an 818, he just bought what was in the shop at the time I assume.
