Anyway to beat rip off uk? When buying a Macbook Pro?

Yes, you are wrong :p.

I've got the Apple Student Discount in an Apple Retail Store. The bloke wanted to see some form of proof (I used my Uni ID card) and wanted to note down the University postcode (I googled it). He then had a black folder full of all the different models in store and what percentage the Student Discount was on each, and then in his iPod App after scanning the barcode of the box he just typed in the percentage his black folder told him.

Oh okay thanks, that's really good to know, I got my uni card and a NUS extra card but i read in some student forums that you have to order it over the phone and they won't accept it in store, I did think that was silly since anyone can lie over the phone lol.

Maybe some people have had bad experience with can't be bothered to do all that you just described in store.

Had some issues myself, whilst my uni network (Wolverhampton ..) was being 'upgraded' it only showed up as a college network according to apple's store, anyway i tried to buy in shop and they continually swore that i was only eligible for the College discount, even though i had my NUS and Wolverhampton uni card + email address active.
In the end i had to order over the phone, they asked me for my email address and sent me a mail, which i had to reply with a scan of my card, once done order was placed.

Waiting on delivery now, its taken over a week so far (Not including xmas period ..) apparently they have lots of orders to process and cant keep up, or so im told.

I've ordered my last 2 MacBook Pro's using a link that lets me order as though I was on a uni network, Worked both times got full discount and cheap Applecare with no questions :)

Apple must have got allot tougher since last summer!
