AOC u3477Pqu 34-Inch 3440 x 1440 Monitor

Freesync monitors are coming anywhere from December this year onwards.
If AOC just started production again, how it's unrealistic to expect freesync? This product will be launching in 2015.

Production of this monitor never stopped. And no, it will not be compatible with FreeSync. Maybe future models from AOC but not this one.

I cant comment on what he said, but you can buy these in plenty of other countries.

Wouldn't feel comfortable buying outside of the UK.

Oh well, may's well just wait for the LG Freesync then.

I'd love for the rep to come back and explain his words in that case then. What's the point having a rep on the forum if they're going to lie to the consumer? After all, we're the ones buying the damn thing!

Yup, completely agree about the AOC rep. It would be nice if all these companies would start to tell the truth for once.....

IIRC, does freesync not only work with DP 1.3 and DP 1.2a, however, the 1.2a monitors will need a firmware upgrade... I am not aware of many, if any manufacturers that update their firmware for monitors? At least, I have never had to or been notified of firmware updates for all of my monitors.

Freesync isn't a mandatory standard, so one can't go off the DP version.
Freesync support in DP 1.3 is just as optional as it is in 1.2a. At least I think so.

And as regards the situation, it explains why my question was ignored :p.

If this was an AOC mess up, shipping the stock elsewhere (Again, why's it taking like 12 weeks for more stock? Even trickles of stock would surely come?) surely OCUK must be getting a better price on the AOC when the stock does come in?

The whole situation doesn't make any sense from the standpoint of a potential customer.

Well, the reason it matters is the principle of lying to potential customers. It's just plain wrong and unprofessional.

If you're questioning why I find it matters, the only logical conclusion is you find the behaviour acceptable? Questioning why it matters isn't the attitude of someone who is on the same wave length.

No. I haven't said that at all.

DO NOT TRY AND MAKE ME LOOK BAD IN THIS THREAD!

People make mistakes, big deal, this thread is about a monitor not what someone may or may not have said or got wrong.

Or,

Perhaps Im wrong and there is a specific issue with the UK model, doesnt matter.
