AOL DSL + Netgear DG814

I have a fried who has been on AOL for a long time, and he has been using a Speedtouch USB modem.

Ive recently bought a new router, so i've given him my old Netgear DG814.

As i know nothing about AOL, can anyone in the know advise if it will work, and if so, are there any special setup requirements?

Just a case of plug phone line into router and a cat5 cable from pc to router + power of course

I just assumed because of the way AOL provide their connections it would be a little more difficult.

Yes really, I literally did it last month.

a lot more people are doing this for a workaround (id you like) not to use the AOL software.

Is the username and password, just your normal AOL sign on details?

Keyword "Home Networking" (IIRC) might be a worthwhile read.
You need to reduce the MTU to 1400 too.
