yeh it's easy enough to do the basic adjustment in your head or at least with a calculator (I normally use an ND400 or ND500 so dividing the shutter speed by 400 or 500 is easy enough).
It's more the fiddling with it afterwards bit when I want to vary the aperture, shutter speed or ISO and keep the exposure the same. Normally I count clicks (e.g. 3 clicks one way on shutter speed means 3 clicks on aperture the other way), but when factoring in the ISO as well and also trying to bracket the exposure a bit, It's easier to lose track after taking 4 or 5 shots. When you're talking 30 second exposures it's a big timesaver to get it right first time ;). I wanted to combine it with a timer so I could time bulb exposures easily as well

Spreadsheet with a couple of input boxes might be a good idea though, thanks :)

Sorry for the derail :p

If I've understood you, you can do this. Set the EV of the exposure you want, and the filter in stops to the ND you are using. Then you can vary ISO, Aperture and Shutter to your hearts content.

Please let me know if I've misunderstood, and I will try and find a way of making my app do what your looking for!

In terms of the timeout messages, try covering the sensor, then pointing it towards very bright light, that usually does the trick. Improving the error messages is on my todo list! Let me know if it works!
