I'm annoyed that the Police wouldn't deal with it. Criminal damage is criminal damage. Why has she even got keys to the house? Get the locks changed ASAP.

Can you not file a small claim online? She is going to find it pretty hard to defend such behavior. You could also try and file for her to pay for data recovery, as thats the real loss, not the PC itself.

I wouldn't do anything to her at all to be honest, you risk forcing the issue to escalate. If she's willing to come into your house and bust up your computer then she's probably willing to up the ante if you decide to retaliate.

Just chalk this one down to experience and try to get on with things.
