Seems a possibility as the odds aren't as low as most are for an impact. Do you think we'll be able to do a anything in time if they find in 2029 that it is on course for impact with Earth?
I'm not sure most governments will want to put money into a project that will fall outside of their term even if it could save the planet. I think nothing will happen until 2029 and if they find out it is heading for us then everyone will be in a panic.

I don't think that really helps because years ago women died in childbirth and we died if we caught a disease that we can not treat. Should we just live in ignorance? If a problem can be solved then why shouldn't we try? Anything we do could have huge consequence, butterfly effect but we never know. We can only do what we feel is best at the time without hindsight.
