I can only see them showing off a new MBA, and update the MacBooks. It'll be interesting to see what new features will be in 10.7 (thats if they show it off).

Oh they will, they wouldn't put a Lion in the event's media image otherwise :)

Unless they're making a lion skin coloured Macbook Air.. :p

A lion might be beyond my current specs :(

Now IMO this is going to be fun (or not).

Based on MacBooks...

Fairly few MacBooks can currently boot into a 64bit Snow Leopard. Not due to the CPU but because Apple requires a 64bit EFI. Not to mention a complete iTunes re-write in Cocoa would be needed as well (unless Apple would dare to continue to ship the current code of iTunes with an otherwise 64bit OS). So the cut-off point can't be because a Mac isn't 64bit.

Graphics might be the cut-off point. Doubt they would go as far as cutting all none-Nvidia GPU MacBooks but sending off Intel GMA 950 MacBooks is possible.

So yes, you might end up with a MacBook that can run Windows 7 perfectly fine but won't run the latest Mac OS X.

I really want them to announce OS XI but I guess the Lion means 10.7 now with added fur...

I'd do a proper Happy Dance if they announce OS Eleven...

Some new Macs would be nice as well and a high probability that we will see some...

I think it'd be cool if they incorporated the 3g they use in the IPad into the Macbook Air.

Seen as though I see the Air mainly aimed at business people who need a lightweight device easy with transportation why not include 3g/mini sim into the Air if they're doing a bump up in specs.

I imagine 3G built in to full on computers is a bit more delicate for carriers because there's the user expecation that you can guzzle bandwidth like you're used to.

I, wrongly, assumed they already had 3G :p .

Well given that a four year old Dell Latitude D620 (which any Business will have replaced with an E6410 by now) had integrated 3G I just assumed that Apple did it too!

What Dell did with the D620 was just to include a Novatel PCI Express 3G Minicard radio on the motherboard. You didn't get a SIM or a contract or anything, it was just that there was a 3G modem built into the laptop. You could then remove the laptop battery and stick a SIM in of your choice (the modem was deep down under the keyboard on the motherboard, but the SIM card holder/slot was nice and accessible by the battery.)
