apple in ear headphones - volume on iphone 3g?

so i've bought a pair of these fancy iphone in-ear headphone and i know audiophiles might not think they are the dogs danglies but tbh, they sound loads better than the standard ones and come in a funky triangular case so i'm happy

anyway, the volume control doesn't seem to work on the iphone 3g??? anyone else noticed this?

yes it doesn't, it only works on the iphone 3gs.

the play/skip track button and mic all work.

I think its to do with extra pins in the phone port on the 3gs. I think i would work on the latest nano's and touch's too.

i had a peek in the book which taught me that double clicking skips on a track and triple clicking goes back a track, cool beans
