How does this forum rate the newest version of the Apple Iphone?

I might go get it tomorrow on o2 contract..

I know it has WIFI
Free wap/ie with o2
Bluetooth which the previous version failed to operate
IPod
Touch screen
etc etc

What downfalls does the phone have?

Let me know :)

Cheers.

Had the 16gb version for a few weeks now and the only major let down for me was the limited use of bluetooth the phone has, it is pretty much only there for handsfree. Also the lack of of proper turn by turn GPS really sucks as I depended on it a lot when I had my Tytn2.

Things thats I thought would be rubbish coming from a Tytn2 was the lack of a physical keyboard and 'only' a 2mp camera but after using it for awhile, the onscreen keyboard was actually a joy to use and really responsive, I can type much faster on it than on my Tytn2's keypad.

I was quite shocked when I saw the quality of the photos taken with such a simple camera with no settings whatsoever (ok its not so great when transferred to the PC, but looks stunning for a phone cam when displayed on the iphone). Everyone I shown the pictures I ve taken using the phone to commented on how crisp and sharp the image looks.

Bluetooth is still for headsets only
If you don't turn off 3G, GPS and turn the brightness of the screen down it will use the battery very quickly.

Bluetooth is probably the only issue and battery life can be a bit on the rubbish side.

But for what is essentially a computer in your pocket with amazing ease of use I don't think nay other phone comes close.

Wrong forum mate, will get it moved.
Cheers dude

Surely thats down to the screen?

Bluetooth is probably the only issue and battery life can be a bit on the rubbish side.
Meh, i dont mind about that too much, i charge mine up every other day if not every 3 days, if i have to shorten that then i wouldnt mind too much, id just charge it on an evening, i text a lot and if i got the contract o2 are offering id probably call out a lot more on it.

Edit: Just checked the thread page and i didnt know we had an official thrad :D

One thing I can comment about the iPhone is the plastic...
No more metal, I have quite a few scratches but with the metal I could drop it and know it should last a bit.

And also the SIM Card tray, it is plastic as well! I have broken one of the SIM Trays on my iPhone because it is plastic... Ohh

I wasnt an early adopter of the original iPhone as I wanted 3g and GPS, so decided to wait, and got the new one at launch. It's not a perfect device, but for me at least it's the closest yet. I've had issues and annoyances like most users, but it's still marvellous to use (it still makes me chuckle from time to time how beautiful the interface is) and I now couldn't think of life without my 3G. And it can only get better as Apple iron out the bugs.

Well, the fact it doesn't do mms is a bit annoying and the battery life, though better than the previous model still needs to be improved. The next generation model should be fantastic when it comes out! I'd still consider getting one if o2 would only include Iphone's in their staff discount! Sods!
