Apple iphone warranty doesn't cover winter use

so its ok for them not to repair/replace it under warranty? even if they did get "arsey"?

if its in the terms and conditions of the warranty then yea why should they ?

what i was getting at is that if you are polite then apple usually often help you out outside of warranty

foxconn build them dont they ?

i can say that mine worked in temps below zero anyway as did every other phone ive owned , just the capacitive screen become a nightmare with any condensation

Really? So the warranty can be voided and validated seasonally?

I interpreted it differently. It says "because it was used". That means even if you used your iphone 4 for two minutes outdoors this winter, you warranty is void forever.

Yes I did exaggerate slightly but most countries would have a winter that dropped below 0'c at some point and unless you either A. lived indoors all winter or B. turned your phone off every time you went outside, I assuming the vast majority of people will break that clause in the warranty.

I can categorically say I've used all 9 of my phones (nokia, blackberry, samsung & iphone) at sub zero temperatures and none have become faulty because of it.

There is no reason why a phone should not work below zero degrees.

Li-ion batteries are fine at the temperatures, and I cannot see any reason why the rest of the components could not be used below zero degrees c.
