Hi there,
I'm looking into getting the Apple universal dock purely for the ease of being able to charge up my ipod without having to turn on the pc and of having somewhere nice to put it.
I had a look on the apple site but it seems to suggest that to charge it up with the pc being off, you have to plug the usb connector of the ipod cable into one of those apple usb mains chargers and then into the dock itself. This seems absolutely stupid if it's true as that means i would have to change the wires round any time i wanted to switch between charging and syncing.
Or am i just misreading the description? Can you have the dock plugged into the mains and the pc at the same time so that you don't have to keep switching? If so, does everything you need to do this come with the dock, apart from the ipod usb cable and dock adapter of course?
Cheers
