Had yet another go at shooting the fish in my aquarium. This is one of the better ones.

Very nice shot , you must have been inside the aquarium with the fish , coz I cannot see any reflections ...............! :-)

nice
i used to keep marine fish and used to photograph them with my nikon coolpix 4300 and they were really good photo's, you don't get reflections when you holdthe camera to the glass, i had 1 pic of my flame angel and i loved it, really vivid colours and i don't have it any more :(

but yea, nice shot there :)

Not much really, external flash mounted on tripod to the left of the aquarium, camera held close to the glass but not touching, used Canon 100mm 2.8 macro + Canon 10D, handheld.

Tried a mixture of manual focus and one-shot AF. AF ones better.

Both those shots are 1/125 sec, f/9.5, ISO: 200.

Nice shots but what's the yellow colour cast coming from Alex? Other lighting in the tank?

it'll just be that, the flourescent lighing on the rocks, maybe a 'sun glo' tube or a flora glo tube hehe, they both shine yellow for plant growth. I had actinics in my marine tank, gave a kind of Uv glow look :)

Yeah, asked the girlfriend who's the one who knows about the aquarium and its one thats meant to help plants grow. We dont have any real plants but only those tubes were in stock when she bought it.
