Is the slowdown related to emulation? Surely it can't have been like this on the coin-op back in the day. For me it's horrific at times.

No it was something with the cab, the emulation is almost perfect to how bad it was back in the day.

I tried a few times to improve but strangely my first try was my best score. This one feels more like a console game than an arcade game to be fair.

Loved Bump ' Jump back in the day - if you can end level without wrecking other cars there is big rewards.

Using jump a lot more seems to help remove risk from bumping into walls, especially in the winding sections.
