ArcheAge, Ultima Online's rebirth?

Wow wasn't what it is now when it was released. I played from release. This MMO has potential, I can say that after only playing the open beta weekend. I've played pretty quite a few of the major MMOS.

Then again I always get excited when a new mmo comes around only to become bored again after a while. Something about capturing that magical feeling I had from the early days of wow I guess.

FFXIV and polish in the same sentence? LOL.

Having played both, this walks all over it.

Now WOW is polished but has been out for like 10 years now, if it wasn't polished i'd be a little worried.

Like i've said in previous posts though each to their own. :)

So what races are people going with?

I was set on human due to looks when I played the open beta but looking at the racials elf and firran seem to be better. Is it worth going for a race for racials over looks?

Yeah but you have to die to take advantage of the racial, the others you don't.

Glider ganking with firran sounds fun, not to mention the 20% fall damage reduction should help loads against fire/bubble combos.

Survivability of the elf sounds good too.

I'm finding it pretty difficult to decide.

I am expecting to die lots when we go North! I will be fulfilling a role where I will be most likely get caught out a few times but as long as I get more than they get me I don't care.

And there we have it, final patch is in and they have greatly increased the drop rate of archeum. So that's the biggest two issues that people were complaining about, archeum drop rates and labour potion cool downs, both sorted, That's one in the eye for the naysayers :)

Got a feeling its going to drag today at work :D Might be able to sneak away around 3ish if i'm lucky ! Is it 6pm the head start begins ?

I am so torn, i was about to resub to wow in prep for WoD having not played wow for a couple of years now, but I keep reading about this and wildstar and it makes me want to try something new. I didnt play in any of the betas etc, how is movement/combat in this game, does it feel smooth like wow or clunky like ESO?

Cool, just need to work out what to do with the wife and kids.....

Send them to the cinema or something :p

It's like wow, although I find myself trying to dodge stuff using double tap like in GW2 ><

Can anyone tell me whether or not this game is instanced or not? I just found out that wildstar is. By instanced i dont mean loading screens to move continents/enter dungeons. I mean where you can be stood in a particular area, and your friend could be there but on another 'channel/instance' whatever you want to call it. Like what happens in Tera. It really ruins MMO games for me and i still dont understand why wow never had to do it but these other more modern games all do :/

No, apart from dungeons, there is no instancing
