Looking at this for my new i5 (it said on OCUK it would fit socket 1156, but now its no where to be seen on their website)

Just wondering if anyone uses it and if its any good, don't wanna stick with stock cpu cooler but don't want to spend a lot of money either!

I'm in the same position as you and also looked at this cooler as a temporary solution, but then I see Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus that is actually very good (only like 3C short on the cooling champs, TRUE, megalems etc, granted at a rather noisy controllable stock fan at 2000rpm, and I would most likely settle for like 1700rpm for everyday usage) and not that expensive. So wonder which to choose, if I choosed CM Hyper 212 Plus then I would prolly use it for a bit longer time than the AC Freezer 7 Pro until some very good cooler for socket 1156 is available.

However 4.0GHz looks a bit like a stress/wishful thinking for a i7-860 on a Freezer 7 Pro, or does it? :p: I'm not using a comp case and can always add extra fans to cool cpu socket area or maybe use push-and-pull on the cooler if need be.

For me it's either CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ or Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev2 but which to pick is a difficult choice.

Xtreme isn't worth the cost, I wouldn't concider it, just search around a little for reviews and user comments and you'll see the performance isn't really that good. Freezer Pro however does a good job for its price but still a bit doubtful if it's enough to handle a 4.0GHz clock but compared to Xtreme, at least the 92mm fan spins at reasonable speeds 2500rpm to get some performance as well.
