Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2

I quite like the looks of that coolermaster too.

The direct contact heat pipes are a nice touch, i wonder if that is what makes them better.

Also might be noted that MX3 paste would better any of these coolers still, right?

Just put a CM Hyper 212 plus on my E5200 @ 1.42v and it primes @ 3.75GHz 68c ... may reseat this though as not much better than stock Q6600 cooler..

My stock Q6600 Intel cooler got it to 3.6GHz stable with 1.40v @ 72c

The stock E5200 cooler was 3.33 GHz @ 1.37v for 80c ..

I've ordered the CM Hyper 212 +, just curious, is it better to spread the thermal paste out on the cpu or to just leave a pea sized blob and let the heatsink spread it out.

Thanks, another question, would the cooler master thermal paste that the cooler comes with be better than the Artic Silver Matrix thermal paste I have.

The CM Hyper 212+ came today, it's all attached and working now, seems to be idling at about 29-30 degrees Celsius which is a big improvement as yesterday it was idling at 39-40 with the Blue Orb. :)

Hey mate,

Don't laugh but I fed a piece of wire through the fan mounting holes of the extra fan, and pulled the fan tight through the heatsink then used the supplied heatsink fan to clamp the wires at the front. I'll take a picture when I get home but it isn't pretty!! Very functional though, and dropped the temperatures loads! :)

Good idea, might do this with the mk1 Freezer Pro going into the system I'm building out of old hardware lying around.

It's a great cooler for the price, selling it to get a h50 since I'm getting a i7 860 - I need to change my name =/

I would like to see pics LOOL!

The CM Hyper 212 + has definitively lowered my cpu temp, the dot method of applying thermal paste seemed to work better than the line method so I'll probably re-apply it sometime soon.

Sorry for the bad picture (phone photo) and the wire mess(old case, terrible cable management)

Hello, I'm just wondering if this CPU cooler is better than the ThermalTake Blue Orb. I was just thinking of getting a better CPU cooler to lower my heats and don't have much money because I'm a student and was thinking of this one:

Thanks

EDIT: My CPU package is Socket 775 LGA.

I have the freezer pro 7 rev2 and my machine idles in the low 40's. I would recommend spending a bit more for something better.
