Lo all,

Just tried to process some RAW files from a shoot I did a while back and Photoshop refused to open them. Just installed Rawshooter to check them and they all look like this:

It's not just this folder that's ruined either, pretty much 95% of my RAW's are like that. I have no idea what happened. Everything was working fine yesterday. :(

I'm guessing the people that have read and haven't replied don't want to tell me the horrible truth that I know already. :(

Luckily I've got most of them processed and saved as .tiff so I won't lose them for ever but it's nice having the RAW's all the same. It's not looking good for the two folders that I hadn't started processing though. I've got to almost totally clear them.

Is this off the memory card or from file?
I ask because you can solve this simply. Use another computer if its off memory and its the same, then they are corrupt (buggered card) if its file, then send to someone else to see if you have comp issues. Elementary my dear watson.

Thanks for the solution. :) It's all from file so I shall try on another computer. I wouldn't be surprised if it was yet another fault with my computer.

looks like file errors to me. Looks like the cards failed to write the image but do try them downloaded from different devices. there should be no problem if the images preview fine on the camera.

The thing is it was nothing to do with the memory card, it's all my archived RAWs. Some of them have been sitting on my computer for years, I did a little bit of organising (simply drag-and-drop to new folders within my My Pictures folder and then the above happened.

Are they from a 30d by any chance?. Rawshooter's a bit arsey. It (essentials iirc) doesn't support 30d .CR2's, and a few others. I would download lightroom and try that tbh, certainly before deleting anything.
