Are Audi losing the plot on their key USP, i.e. nice interiors?

I mean quality.

I can't say I feel better at places with ''expensive'' furniture. Or that I've ever noticed myself looking at furniture at all, just how it feels to sit on, or how it works, and the lightening/atmosphere in the room overall ( I hate darkish rooms), but the furniture has little effect on that imo.

EDIT: To use one of your examples, no, I wouldn't care if a button would flex when I press it, as long as it looked okay ish and kept on working.

The sound of an engine, the graphics of a pc game, a nice big full hd tv yeah, good quality sound over just ''loud'' sound, comfy chair, etc ? Yeah.

An expensive desk, bed, bathroom, door handle, thunk of a door ? No, as long as they work and are practical, I prefer to spend the money elsewhere ( on above things).

I find it odd that you like a comfy chair but not a comfy bed when you probably spend more time in bed.

Cheap does not equal uncomfy .

The mattress is most important but I can't say I find a 200+€ one more comfy than a 50€ one.
The bed/frame, that I don't really give a hoot about, mine has a crack in it, and instead of buying a new one for a couple of tenners, I've ''mended'' the crack with a couple of screws and joints I had lying about instead.

In the last few weeks been out in a 58 plate S5 and a brand new 2010 A8, cant say I have noticed what you mean. I thought both were fantastic, and seemed to be brilliantly designed and assembled!

The interior lighting on the A8 was wonderful and added and a real atmosphere and made it feel very expensive.

A customer of mine has an E92 M3which has already got serious seat bolster wear...!!!

See if people moaned about the seats being uncomfy then fair du's...as thats a pretty critical part...but the door handles...I mean...really? :p

Phate,
I do understand the logic you're using. However, if all VAG customers applied that to their car buying decisions, virtually no one would ever buy an Audi, as we all know that it's just a jumped up Skoda in disguise, but with a "nicer" interior and much bigger price tag.
So please, just bear with us that for some, it clearly does matter.

Yep...but it really doesn't bother me at all. I might take a pic of the van interior if you prep yourself with a sick bucket first :p

It's something that almost envelops you after driving a 'nicer' car for a few months/years.
It's simply not something you might appreciate just driving around in a posh motor for a few hours; I certainly didn't anyway :)

Hey leave off the Skoda, there is nothing wrong with the interior of my new superb.

I noticed this when i got in the A5. Feels cheaper (may look more modern) than the current shape A3 and previous shape A4.

Note - A6 still feels solid.

Snowdog better hurry up and preorder his Dacia Duster

Errr a 13k € car without remote central locking, aircon or leccy windows with a 1.6 petrol engine or a 1.5 diesel ? No Thanks... What a ripoff... One of my neighbors has one, not a clue why though, how you can spend 13k on something that basic I don't know. It's a car made for poor countries imho like Morocco or so with loads of unpaved roads.
