Are Dyson's still the best vacuum cleaners?

First one was a Dyson 01 or 02 (deffo one of the early ones) next one was the 'animal' version and can't fault it at all. OP you answered your question, whenever I found myself in that difficult situation of knowing I was wrong, made the wrong decision or whatever else it happened to be. Stood there feeling oh great can this get any worse... doorbell / knock ..... yeah, they would walk in and say ' I told you' ....

Don't let it be you!

;)

Got a Henry in my workshop, can't fault it, came out of a skip years ago, all it needed was a new cable.
As for a house vacuum, I have a built in Smart Vacuum system , base unit lives in the shed, bought it new & unused off Ebay for a fiver.

Henry for offices/commercial - ours is great and sucks up all manner of dirt!

We have a dyson at home, as does my mother and mother in law without any complaints, they seem to work very well. My mum recently got a new DC24-Animal (the purple ball one) and its brilliant :)

You don't have to use a dust bag, I've never used one but 'officially' your supposed to use one.

Fair play mate, I was one of the people that cried the loudest at Dyson advertising no need to buy dust bags anymore.... only thing then was, dust bags became filters ;)

...that said at least that's changed as well.

I really want a Henry to replace my Electrolux bagless jobby, but they cost around 3x more where I live than they do in the UK, and im not paying that!

If you get a Henry dont cheap out and run it bagless. I used to use one for industrial valeting and I would get a months use on average out of the bags which is great value I think and there is no mess and dust like you get with bagless ones.

DC07 are cheap as chips 40 quid on ebay refurbished and if parts break are dirt cheap to fix. motors at 20 quid and takes 20 mins tops.

Brand new dysons while coming with a 5 year warranty are far to complex so will always go wrong. IF you have the cash miele are the best.

We use Henry at our care home' they replaced the upright kartchers that we had which could not take the hammer our staff gave them. The wife has dyson and she swears by it. Personally I think they are crap I would have a henry any day. Ask any tradesman which hoover they use and every time they will say henry.

This is my pride and joy. 6 HP... It will pick up nails, rocks, everything! I tried using it inside the house once but it sucked the carpet off the floor.

It has a HEPA grade filter in it.

My mum has a Henry vacuum that is older than me, and she bought it second hand from hotel. Still works fine.

Dysons have never been the best.

I used to be a cleaner and know many professional cleaners - none of whom use Dysons. All the professional cleaners I know use Henry vacuum cleaners.

If you want a vacuum cleaner don't buy the trendy one, buy the one the professionals use.

Doesn't necessarily mean they're the best, may mean they're the most reliable. A cleaner can't afford to wait a week for a replacement vacuum, whereas the average consumer can. In return for inconveniance you get better power.

well said that man/person/no reason to offend user of this forum.... (said in a light hearted way) as most cleaners use what they are given regardless of it being the umpteen that month....
