Are ghosts real?

i dont believe in them... i dont think scientifically, there is any proof, saying that though i do still consider myself religeous ( was raised a Christian, on the fence now though)...

I occasionaly see figures etc in my room at night, but i can usually put it down to either being drunk or eating too much cheese... (if i eat too much cheese in one day i can almost guarantee i'l see something at night, and usually reasonably vivid things- but i know its all in my head and go back to sleep....- saying that, i wouldn't like to live in a really old building, find them creepy)....

well that guy had such confidence in his work he refused to enter the 1 million James Randi competition.

and even the psychics in his research said he just did it to leech their publicity.

There would probably be thousands if not more that would fail the "Randi test", and let's be honest about this, for the most part the phenomena does not easily lend itself to the lab. That in itself does not necessarily provide reasonable grounds for assuming that somehow communicating with the dead is an impossibility or that there is no evidence/proof that life after death could not exist.

I would like you all to look up the story of the Fox Sisters - http://www.google.co.uk/search?sour...&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&fp=68704d3128309f03

As you can see by all the links these Sisters were the founders of Modern Spiritualism and that is a fact.
From them all other Mediums began which spawned the multi-million pound industry that it is today.
I would like your thoughts on these two especially from the believers.

Well tbh the Fox Sisters were "con-merchants" without a doubt. Doesn't make any difference to me as all I'm interested in are the results that are investigated in the lab. Demonstrable results are the only way to go if you wish to be taken seriously. That is not to say I completely discount anecdotal evidence; but in that regard i would rather stick to the tales recounted by the people I know or my own experiences.
