Are Next Gen Consoles Making You Think About Ditching Your PC?

It seems that all the ace games coming out for PC/Vista in the next 6 months are or soon will be in development for 360/PS3, with that in mind what is the point in having a high spec PC over a 300 console?

Im seriously considering selling my high end PC now and getting a mid range machine as most of my gaming today is done on my 360, and with games like Crysis, Stalker etc already been announced for next gen the need to keep upgrading at the cost of muchos $$$ seems needless to me.

anyone else feeling the same?

I still have a relatively high end gaming pc (with a X1900XT GC) but I havn't used it for a few weeks as I mostly use the 360.

Couldn't live without the PC, no console will be able replace the freedom of creativity that applications offer, and as these applications become more and more demands, then it makes sense to have a 'reasonable' powered PC.

I still use my pc a lot for content creation etc. But as a gaming platform and as for upgrading i havnt for a while and will not for a while yet either.

but still use my PC everday for internet and watching movies.

Already did it in December when the 360 came out. I was sick to death of dire non existant fun games and went the dreaded console route because the 360 was actually different from your average console.

The pc is only used for work purposes, internet browsing and er thats it tbh.

With the annoyance of my pc (not working properly for 3 months now, freezes after 20mins of gaming, too annoyed to fix it)

I'm buying a 360 on sat
Althought i will get my pc sorted when payday rolls in, as ill have time/money too, but not for serious gaming, dont have enough time for that anyway.
a 40 min PCW, pish, id rather a 20min blast on a console

pretty much the same, I had my pc for a year now and I play the odd game HL2 /Mafia, not bought a PC game this year.

It's probably me but I'm findding it far too much hassle to buy a game, download all the patches, apply them in the right order and then pray to my favoured Deity when clicking on the shortcut.

I went the 360 route and loved it for abit, but as time went on it just ended up gathering dust so sold mine and back onto pc gaming.

Oooo snap(ish) My 165 is sitting at stock now but I did have it at 2.3Ghz (G.Skill PC4000 RAM) and still did nothing with it

yeah i ditched my high specd gaming pc for a macbook and x360, have not looked back. macbook saves me all the hassle of windows, x360 gives me good games with amazing graphics (better than 1900xtx that i had) on my hdtv.

Next Gen Console may be getting better but I feel that we're getting ripped off with graphic card prices and the much of the game development focus have shifted to xbox and the likes especially with classic games such as SWOS.

Would you buy a latest high-end graphic card that would last maybe a year or so for £250 or a £200 console that will last 5 years? It's an easy decision for me.

I can't be bothered with Vista and its directx 10 because I know it will needs more powerful graphic card to handle extra visual effects = more £££. More time wasting playing with graphic settings to hit 'sweet spot' and possible issues etc..it's a lot better with consoles.

The introduction of SLI & Crossfire was a bad idea - it gaves developers the excuse to put in excessive coding, making running games a struggle for lower and mid range cards, even high end ones.

If this was asked in PC games it would be more pro PC, depends on the section.

They both offer me a different gaming experience, 360 and PC. Compliment each other well with the games that they do best, so no, neither is replacing the other but simply complimenting to my gaming experience.

Already did. Ditched a pretty decent Opty, Lian Li, oodles of disk space etc when i realised I was doing nothing but surfing the net, email, photo editing, burning disks etc on a huge great machine.
Swapped for a small lappy instead and not regretted it since, in fact I dont know why I didnt do it sooner. Keep plenty of disk space on my NAS box for backup etc so the 100GB on the laptop isnt too restrictive at all.
Still if the need arises the laptop can cope with anything that I have tried on it like HL2 and RTS type games. Plus I can quite easily hook it up to the 32" Hyundai for big screen action instead of the small 12".
