Are the 680's going to drop in price?

in a couple of months maybe, but then it will only be a few months untill another card and so the never ending cycle!

good point, just like the 580, it'll melt away as soon as the GTX 685 comes out..... i've never experienced this in any other walk of life.

i think the 680 is a better quality card/ drivers etc, but it's simply too expensive and this really screws it up

hypertheically speaking :- wont the GTX 685 be too expensive as well ( if it comes out) ? yea' this is true, but this might not matter simply because it'll be a fair bit faster than the 7970, unfortunately the 680 aint, so this makes it not worth the extra money

Depends. The new lower price of the AMD cards make the 680 less attractive particularly with the supply problems.

At which point supply would then exceed demand. So no, doesn't depend

But then if economics was my strong point I wouldn't be entertaining buying one of these vastly overpriced things in the first place
