Are the forums broke?

Eh, why on earth would you want to be emailed when a reply is made? Just go into CP if you sub to it, or just look out for it, like what the rest of us do! :p

I just have it set to subscribe to threads I post in, then use the 'Subscribed Threads' page from the Quick Links to track the threads. I then always just use 'New Threads' to see what's going on...

Having email notifications would be like when I was first using Facebook and you got an email for everything, quickly turned all that off as it's too much and seems less efficient. Each to their own though, if you're used to it then it's a bummer if it stops working.

Conspiracy theory - Vbulletin is being upgraded....

I didn't know there were email notifications, why would anyone want that?

I use "New Posts" as a bookmark to see what's new.

I use New Posts all the time but email notifications are for what you have already posted in.
You can go to view all subscribed threads but it's nowhere near as good.

Dimple, in my case gmail was sending messages to the spam folder so wouldn't come through in Outlook. Log into gmail via your browser and check your spam folder. I created a filter to never mark '[email protected]' as spam. Emails seem to be coming through now.

It's all to do with Virgin Media.
I went onto the site for the first time since May 10th 2010 and saw the emails from then.
I had over 20,000 emails because on that day I chose not to delete posts from the servers because I was stuck in Egypt and if my daughters had clicked on Microsoft Outlook back home I would have lost any emails I needed to read.
OCUK emails were going into spam since last thursday (!!!) but since I've deleted all 20,000+ emails they are now coming back into Outlook.

HOWEVER, I have just decided to unclick email notifications and I'm going to do it from Quick Links > Subscribed Threads and see if I can fall in love with it.

Ah OK. For some reason I assumed you use gmail! I just select the threads I want to subscribe to rather than use the default subscription to any threads I've posted in. The amount of threads you post in, your email account must have been bombarded :D

They "broke" about 7 years ago.

I blame the "Another Relationship Thread" stuff - or the "Should I buy a pint of milk because there isn't any in the fridge" threads.
And the increasing text speak....lolz, rofl, facepalm, fail etc....etc.

It's a forum - not a teenagers mobile.
