Are the new Ati drivers up today?

I was about to download the 9.12's
Whats actually the problem with them?
I have a 4870 but I'm used to Nvidia cards, and graphic drivers usually result is a performance boost!
 
The current ati drivers have flickering issues annoying at best. I read somewere that a new driver is out today. Can someone confirm this?
 
Yeah ive heard today as well (and they are normally a Wednesdays), but i can't see them being up at this time, as they'll still be in bed over there i think, so be later on (around 5ish onwards) if they are coming. :)

Could do the old trick of changing the link to 10.1, and clearing cookies, using a DM etc... (so you don't get the leech page), to see if they have already upped them to the servers ready to go before updating the main page as they do.

Ive heard the driver will be 8.691 to, where as the supposed betas were 8.670.

Well I've just tried and I am getting a service unavailable error!

"The requested service is temporarily unavailable. It is either overloaded or under maintenance. Please try later. "

Hopefully this means their in the process of being updated????
 
Doesn't look like today, he's updated his Twitter page dismissing the 7th Jan release, and hasn't mentioned when they are coming, so im guessing its not today, as if it was, he would have said.

Fairplay to ATI/AMD, the flow of information to loyal followers just doesn't exist! Yeah's its not the 7th but we're not actually gonna tell you when it is, just keep you all guessing and overloading our site pointlessly looking for whats not there! Unfortunately the rules of this forum do not permit me to fully express my feelings right now.......
 
You mean like Nvidia publically announce driver incoming dates?

Is it not possible he DOESNT KNOW YET when this months drivers are going up, hence hes just said they're not the 7th to stop people getting dissapointed?

So you don't think it is simply because they are still working out some kinks and they don't actually know when they will be released, just we know we have allot of work to do so def. won't be the 7th.

Still 9.12's on the website :( i'm still on 9:10's seem fine but really i would love the new ones just to see if i get more preformance.

Well of course it's because their still working on them, otherwise holding them back would be pointless surely? Unless their timing them to launch with a new product. My point is surely they could communicate better with their customer? Maybe it's just me, in which case take my commenst with a pinch of salt and don't worry yourself about my opinion.
 
I don't remember nvidia ever communicating with me on a routine basis about driver releases so why anyone expects ati to do it i don't know. We know they will be coming this month and in fact every month so better then nvidia on that as awell patience is such a hard thing for some and while i know some have problems that they really want resolved do you want ati to rush it possibly cure your one problem and create more ?.
 
Has anyone got any information on what we might be seeing in this release? I feel as though some real performance improvements is in order on the newer lines, or at least something cool considering it's the beginning of the 10.X drivers =D
