Hopefully, you get the idea. What can we do about it though? GD in it's present state is far too trashy, it needs to be brought upmarket. No, I'm not proposing another GDC/GDZ split; perhaps a little more zeal in moderation may do the trick. I don't know the answer. I've also noticed the 'cycle' of GD quality. We all have a moan every so often, but it seems like a tirade of kiddies spoil the show with each new year.

I may be perceived as aggressive- hell, I'm sure I am. But there are countless other forums where spam reigns supreme, out of control like a burgeoning bacterium culture. OcUK is not of these places. It is a quality community, strong and solid, with a massive membership of diverse, intellectual individuals. We must sweep out the cobwebs, rebuild, restructure, revolutionise!

Onwards and upwards!!!

crikey, i don't half need a drink of water after all that, throats killing

Wow Fusion, nice post :)

I was going to comment on all the recent youtube/google video threads. Really, most of them are crap or have been seen before, stop posting them!

Edit: And as for that ElRazur chap! ;)

Mm. Check the profiles also of the OP, for instance the shirt thread was by someone born in 1975, guess his school is on holiday as well.

I think the forums probably have their youngest average age for a very long time... if ever, down to the fact school kids practically get internet at their desks in school and the high availability of cheap broadband. It is inevitable that the generation gap brings, how can I put this nicely.. a broad pallet of threads to GD.

Maybe the crapometer threshold does need lowering a little... who knows. We seem to ask the same question whenever this thread inevitably comes up.

Daz, eitherway we'll be "nasty dons" for closing all the crap threads etc.. If we do change the threshold we'll never get it right...

Bear in mind people the forums are what you make of it. :)

Depends on what people like to read.

To be fair people could consider a picture of your gun being cleaned in the washing machine equally as pointless as those threads you're talking about Feek.

Same with my comic strip thread, some find it highly amusing, others might see it as childish and a waste of time.

True - but then again anybody that didn't find the comic strip thread funny don't deserve to be a part of OcUK :p

As long as I have my Case Central I am happy! ;)

Last time I post in GD it ended in Salta. :(

/me points

HAHA! :p

This place scared me when I first registered about 3 years ago (When I was 15/16, can't see the exact date I registered at the moment and I am too lazy too look) and I only registered because I needed help after messing up something in the first computer I had ever built "flying solo". So many folk on here knew so much more than me I was worried about looking like an idiot. Now I am older I realise that I still post like an idiot, but I don't care anymore :D . At least it stopped me from spamming and irritating everyone.

I like lurking anyway.....

On a side note, any idea what Salta means?

I don't know, and just about my whole MSN list has asked me why I changed my name to that. :(

A quick google reveals it is a place where the Argie Bargies roam.
