Let's cut to the chase - I've worked in IT my whole life, I have not been kind to either my keyboards or my body (with the exception of my IBM model M and the one time my other half convinced me to try vegetarianism for six months, and what a hellish six months that was. My kid brother spent the entire time sending me pictures of steaks. Git.) and as a result, I'm currently at a portly 198 kilos. in conjunction with me being 6'3", this makes fitting into the world...Awkward, and finding things like a good office chair is an issue. Kind of hoping I could get some suggestions that don't come from a medical implements catalogue or require a second mortgage to buy?

Thanks in advance if you can help, friends.

Okay, so I'm 6ft8 around 30st and disabled with significant lower limb mobility issues along with a lot of other problems. Comfort is king, in order to allow me to use my PC. So feel your pain in finding the right chair for me.

I had a Noblechairs Hero which stood up to years of my giant ass, but it was never really comfortable and not great for long sessions.

I tried various others, including a bariatric office chair from a company that needs to learn about consumer law that while suitable for most, was just too shirt in the back for me and caused pain.

In the end I went with the Secretlabs Titan Evo XL! Yes it's expensive, but it's perfect for me. It's comfortable, sturdy and big enough. I can't recommend it enough

I might take a look at one of that as my my PL6000 vertgear is come to the end of its life.

Can recommend the secret lab titan xl.

Am 6ft5 at 20 stone but used to tip the scales at over 31, had the chair a few years now and its still in the same shape as new.

Chair itself is nice and wide with no pinch points, for me its comfortable but everyone is different.

I've had a titan evo XL for almost 3 years now, it's great... I'm 6'3 but a relative lightweight at 16 stone.

It has a wider cusion and back than the regular one...

Also, aside from the arm pad adjustments, the arms are bolted to the frame on adjustable brackets, which gives you another few inches to adjust the arm rests tighter or wider, so you can move them in and out as needed, and then use the arm pad adjusters for fine adjustments..

They are not cheap chairs, but I really can't complain about them... some people don't like that the cussioning is quite firm, but this is actually a plus, as it's very supportive and actually very comfortable for long sitting periods, and won't collapse or compress over time if you a are a 'hecking chonker'. ... or at least nowhere near as bad as plusher/softer cussions get compressed over time.

You do need to take the time to get everything adjusted to your preference though... I think it took me a week or two of tinkering a bit here and a bit there to get it spot on for me.

There arn't many products I would whole heartedly reccomend, but this is one of them. Expensive, but worth it.

6’8?? Holy hell you are TALL!

Agree with the Titan Evo XL as being great. I have the regular Titan Evo but i know a couple people with the XL and they all say the same thing - best chair they’ve ever owned.

Only advice id give is the material of the chair matters, I bought the soft fabric and it definitely needs ti be cleaned far more often than leather

Lmao, yeah I am a bit... when I was in hospital on my back for 5 months after leg surgery, when they stood me up for the first time it hit me, like **** me, I'm tall! I'd genuinely forgotten.
