Are you bothered/excited/interested in the Olympics?

I much prefer watching games or team sports than athletics, which just seem so arbitrary. Ooooh you can jump really high, great, watch how fast I can spin my arm *spin*.

I applied for boxing tickets, didn't get them. Also would have been interested in seeing weigh lifting and the gymnastic 'hoops', purely because god damn that is some impressive strength!

Bitterly disappointed that I didn't get any track cycling tickets, but I think its going to be fantastic competition.

I was really excited, until i put over a grand down on track cycling tickets and got zilch. I know of quite a few people who put their name down for them but don't know anyone who won the "lottery".

Now i couldn't care less about giving them any money... i'll watch it for free on TV.

I'll be watching it if an event that interests me happens to be on. I like watching most sports and as long as there's some good competition it should be good to watch.

It's only every four years and getting to see so many athletes in so many different sports at the top of their games in such a short space of time is a good thing to watch.

I'm also a keen cyclist and runner as well as weight lifting so I have a strong interest in each of those sports anyway. As well as football but don't play often at all these days.

I'm looking forward to it, I want to watch some of the different events, and I'm going to be involved in some of the football at Old Trafford hopefully :)

Quite looking forward to it. Sprinting! Still never ceases to amaze how fast some men (and women) can propel themselves forward.

Beach volleyball should be good too.;)

Yep, im really looking forward to it....i love everything about the olympics.

BUT i am not looking forward to London hosting it, i think its going to be an absolute farce compared to just how good both Australia and Beijing were.

I'm looking forward to the whole thing, although I couldn't care less about it being in London I do appreciate being able to go and see some live Olympic sport. Greco-Roman Wrestling :)

I'm not excited, but I usually get into certain sports, whilst championships are on. I dare say I'll watch some tennis, the short distance running, certain field events if I stumble across them, the rowing, etc. There's nothing I'm ridiculously pumped about, but there's loads I'll end up watching, if I'm in the house.

I don't know why but I almost never bother watching the tennis or football when it's on at the Olympics - maybe it's just that for most sports at the Olympics that's the pinnacle but I don't see it that way for those two, it almost feels like they've been added in as an afterthought.

Beach volleyball should be good too.;)

I read in the paper yesterday that applications for womens volleyball were 65% male, I can't imagine why that might be.

BUT i am not looking forward to London hosting it, i think its going to be an absolute farce compared to just how good both Australia and Beijing were.

That's the spirit - such rampant positivity. :p

Yeah, looking forward to the basketball, Team GB, USA, Spain and France anyway. Think there are still 3 teams left to qualify, theres a FIBA World tournament coming up at the start of July so i guess thats where the other 3 teams will come from.

Looking forward to the Road racing too, well, kinda. Im more looking forward to La Vuelta a Espana which starts afew weeks after they Olympics, which is gona be much better.
