Are you scared of spiders?

I can't go near the big ones, small ones (money spiders) just annoy me because they make me itch :p
Also, those really light brown ones which are big, but really thin creep me out as they seem to be keen on abseiling right in the middle of the room :(

Wasps are worst though, they have one chance to go back outside, after that they get the book treatment!

Nothing a tin of Lynx and a lighter wouldn't sort ;)

Have you ever put one on a barbecue? They make an awesome whistling/squealing noise.

Dont mess with them

I'm OK with house spiders around here. None of them are dangerous and it's extremely unlikely that any of them will ever bite me. I'm uncomfortable with them, but not scared of them. I let them live in my house. If I find one in the bath, I just rip off a length of toilet roll and drape it over the side - they soon find out that they can climb out using it. I even leave some of their webs alone, in out of the way corners.

My house never has any insects in it unless I have a window open and one flies in.

I'd much rather have spiders than flies and creepy-crawlies. Filthy things.

I tell the spiders not to come upstairs and not to scurry around when I can see them. House rules :) For some reason, I don't see any upstairs. I've no idea why - it's not like the stairs would be a barrier to them.

Personally, I get a little crepped out by them. Sure enough, house spiders are harmless but they move pretty quick and all them legs make them unpredictable.

We had a house spider at one time that made a fifty pence piece look small. The old man named him "Borris". He kept the flies away for a while.

Apparently, house spiders are adapted to live indoors all year round. So, putting them outside thinking your doing them a favour is actually killing them.

Shame on you all.

Im convinced that house spiders will eventually feed on us if they can't nail flies. At least they don't carry malaria like the mosquitoes mind!

Well i dont mind spiders, i used to pick them up and scare my mum and sister with it loool.

but if I see one of these bad boys, i would think twice lol

As far as I know, the maximum possible body size of a spider on Earth with the current atmosphere is about the size of the largest tarantula. There's a hard limit set by the atmosphere because they don't breathe as such. They absorb oxygen through their skin and the conditions of the atmosphere limit how deep the oxygen can go, which limits the size of any spider.

Absolutely terrified. I know it's an irrational fear by I am genuinely paralysed by house spiders. Imagine all of your family dying and a gun being pointed at your head - that's how I feel when I see house spider. If someone put one in my face I'd probably jump out of a window to get away from it - brains are stupid!!!
