My new baby is coming in 8 hours!

8.45 tomorrow I will be jumping up and down holding my genitals like they're about to drop off outside my local ford dealership.

My focus ST2 is here! at last!

Ordered a blue 3dr st2 at the start of august for a new job starting at the end of august.. they said end of sept delivery. I hired a fusion from them (I figured cheapest possible seeing as its wasted money) for the meantime.

2 weeks ago I go out with a mate and he tells me his local dealer has a blue 3dr st2 in the showroom, unregistered and ready to go.. I confirm and ask my dealer to buy it... hartwells of oxford say NO! and want me to go and buy it myself.. I very nearly do but my dealer says "but mr matt100, we have a red 3dr st2 specced up coming next week.. want it?"

I say.. "NO!".. they say "it has £1500 of options and the finance comapny say you can have it at 5.9% apr which means its £15 a month cheaper for a £1500 dearer car??" I say "YES!"

and its being collected tomorrow AM.. I've had diesels and company euroboxes for so long I'm beside myself with excitement...

I can't wait!

oh yeah, my original order, which they're keeping because they know they can sell it has been moved back to....

end of november!

in a fusion!

F that!

You sound like a child on christmas eve. Enjoy your new toy, and get some pic up :D

I'm forcing myself to drink to give myself any chance of going to bed!

I fear I will be rather distant when doing my account planning tomorrow :D

Nice, we await the pics, I'm trying to imaging what it'll look like in red as I don't think I've actually seen one in that colour.

What were the freebie options out of interest?

rear parking sensors
power sunroof (no sunroof normally)
auto headlights
auto wipers
dimming rear view mirror

half an hour! yeek!

Tell me how it goes, I think it's between an ST and a Golf GTI for me...

Decisions.

I am in the same boat, also, very interested in your impressions

Its a terrible wait, i didnt sleep at all in the last week of waiting for mine, i had to wait 3.5 months for mine tho!

As for ST vs Golf GTI, its a difficult one, if you are on a std company car scheme the Golf is the one to go for as its got lower emissions hence cheaper tax, also the focus drinks fuel for fun, so if you dont get a fuel card you will cry! 28mg is possible if you drive reasonably gently, the golf is way better in that respect

The ST is the better car, just, better steerng feel, better engine note, the exhaust pops like a good un.apart rom that theres nothing in it.Apart from price, the ford is obv better VFM, buy the VW has better residuals.

I have done 5K in mine now in just over a month and im loving every minute of it, 4 of us went france in it, and it was so relaxing, cant say the same about something like a CTR.

Its a good car only let down but a tiny fuel tank and a tiny boot, apart from that i cannot fault it, yet!

Never seen one with a sunroof, would have loved one on mine but i thought it didnt look quite right. Its a good job you have got your hands on one now, as the delays seems to be getting longer!

haha I'm at work..

its.... awesome.. I've never grinned so much in a car before :)

pics sunday probably..

first impression though.. sounds amazing, the burbles and pops on the overrun are incredible, the interior is nicely high quality, surely not a patch on the golf but way better than the last focus I had and the last car I had (new shape astra).

Handling seems amazing, I booted it round a big roundabout near work and it felt like it was on rails, the harder I pushed the harder it gripped.. you can feel the car repositioning itself its amazing.

And run in period? bah.. nonsense ;)

It'l have 2k on it by the end of next week so I'm really not all that concerned.

That kind of mileage suggests quite a bit of motorway cruising in which case be careful. I've heard that it's as important to vary the revs during the running in period as it is to limit them (just hearsay - I could be wrong), in which case sitting at a steady speed on the motorway for thousands of miles won't do it much good.
