Right, I still have this problem, but I've lost the thread and it was a while ago.
I've update audio drivers, graphics drivers, cleaned dust out, and so on, and I do not understand why this is happening. It often only happens when I'm viewing youtube or listening to music on foobar2k, and sometimes when playing TF2 and borderlands, but for some reason this rarely ever happens when I'm on megavideo or battlefield bad company 2, and sometimes, but rarely, it happens randomly on my desktop.
The whole system becomes instantly unresponsive and the audio distorts and "stretches out" like some kind of robot making the sound that was being created but in slow motion.
Running a CHKDSK seemed to work for a while, but now my problem is back.
I found these in event viewer every time I crash:

Can't find any other logs/events that match the dates, and I have no idea what's going on.
Any suggestions?
