Postman came yesterday wohoo. Delivered my new Lian Li Armorsuit PC50-WB & the Corsair H50-1.

Original Case was a Lian Li PC60 about 4years old, still looking well though.

Eventually decided on using the Noctua NF-P12 Fans in Push-Pull config as an intake.

2 x 140mm top Exhausts
1 x 120mm rear Exhaust
1 x 120mm front Intake
2 x 120mm Intake and CPU Cooler.

Had to use a bit of creative thinking to mount the H50-1, but its well secure, although im not entirelly happy with it atm.

Just need to finish it off with a couple of Lian Li Stealth Bezels, and some internal lighting.

Temps have dropped from 40*c idle & 84*c max load. to 34*c idle and 72*c max load. I also used to leave the side panel off my PC60 too. Noise wise shes no louded than my old case.

Well Pleased

I really like this case.

Can I ask, how have you managed to fit the H50 in the drive bays like that, what is it screwed down to?

You do know you can make your own stealth drive covers using the covers that came with the case right?

There are 4 screws holding it in. Which are screwed through the drive bay cage with a nut on the back these are then screwed in until they start hitting the strips of wood that I managed to put either side of the rad.

I really like the look of the Armoursuit. Was tempted to get the bigger one (P80?) when I order my new PC, whats the space like on the P50 for building?

Its quite spacious tbh, but I can see it being cramped if you have loads of ODD's.

One this I do miss is the removeable motherboard tray, and I need to look into mounting the H50 a bit better, need to look for som sort of cage i can mount via the sides.

Ive actually just noticed that i put the rear fan in the wrong way round so temps maybe even lower.

Had mine for a few days now - quite happy and its quieter, cooler and smaller (in width) than my old Akasa Eclipse 62. Cooling setup with seven fans...

2x 120MM LIAN-LI INTAKE FANS (1 for hard drives at base and the other unobstructed to allow cool air to GPU and CPU area, both running at ~1200RPM)

2x 140MM LIAN-LI TOP OUTPUT FANS (~800RPM)

1X 120MM LIAN-LI REAR OUTPUT FAN (~1000RPM)

2X 120MM PUSH-PULL CPU FANS ON THERMALRIGHT TRUE BLACK (~800RPM)

Using CoreTemp I get these figures:

IDLE: 28 DEGREES CELSIUS (COOL & QUIET ENABLED)

LOAD: 38 DEGREES CELSIUS (ORTHOS BLEND AFTER 20 MINS)

CPU is overclocked to 3.2Ghz with stock volts (Phenom II X4 940) under full load.

I'm aiming to push the overclock now that cooling is ~7 degress better than the older Akasa case setup. The fan layout is also better (aided by an old Thermaltake Hardcano 13 on AUTO) and having the PSU at the bottom makes a lot of difference.

I also put in my four year old 74GB Raptor (now used as a download / page file drive) and the difference in sound/vibration is night and day. The Akasa had no rubber gromets / case dampening and even basic hard drive noises would vibrate around the case. Just a gentle purr now when accessing.

:D

Nice build, really like the black internals on that case. Pity my Lian li a70f is silver aluminium internally.

Looking sweet !! How have you secured the extra 120mm unobstructed fan at the front of the case, looks like a Lian Li Front fan bay. Any chance of some close ups on the front of your case?

Also where did you source the extra Blue LED Lian Li Fan from?

Cheers!...Yes I purchased a Lian Li front fan bay for £20 the same place I got the case (not from OCUK). I got the one without the extra 3 drive holders (BZ-502B) and it came with standard black Lian-Li 120mm fan. I replaced that fan with a Lian-Li 120mm 1500RPM blue LED fan (CF-1215A) again from same place which is identical to the one in the front but slightly faster.

The LEDs are a little brighter in reality than the photo suggests - the fans are rotating slower than normal plus the flash has hit the top of the case.

You can purchase the front fan bay with 3 drive holders (but no caddies) for the same price but... A) I won't need more than three drives B) the all black version is hard to track down and a silver coloured version would stick out a mile and ruin the theme. I tried to keep everything black (except the optical drives inside).

I own a Corsair HX620 and didn't need a 4/8 pin extension cable even tho I ordered one.

Have just ordered the PC-50B for my build but I have gone for the Cool-It ECO cpu cooler.

I'm intrigued to see how you have installed the H50 in your WB. I was expecting that I will have to sacrifice the rear exhaust fan that comes with the case but now I'm totally confused as to the best orientation. You mentioned that you used wood to make your orientation work and I'm wondering if that was essential as I'm not sure I want to go down that road.

I could have used something else other than wood i just had these to hand and it also cushions the screws.

I have Screwed through the drive bay cage with bolts and a nut on the back, the bolts are long enough to screw into the wood. This was done from either side so in esscense it clamps the H50-1 in place.

Bit of a temp bodge really but im planning to get a couple of front fan bays for the lower 6 and a fan controller above then some black bezels.
