Around 20K Budget

I looking at getting rid of my ST220 sometime very soon and am not entirely sure on what to replace it with. I really don't have to many restrictions other than the budget. I'm 24, no kids :D and don't go shopping a whole lot so boot space im not to bothered about :p

I'm probably siding more towards the 2d Coupe, but i don't wanna be driving around in a hair dressers car. Not looking for anything to old, upto around 10k miles sorta thing.

I've loved the looks of a 350Z for ages now. Although the ST has been a great car, im after something a little more fun. I've decided i definitely don't want FWD and that i am looking for something with quite a bit more poke.

Cars i've looked into:

S2000 - I've driven one and as much as i loved the experience, it doesnt have enough road presence to me plus i see a lot of em around.

TVR's - Friend of mine had a 4.5 Cerb. Was absolutly blown away by the performance but don't really like the look of any of them other than the Sagaris :D Servicing / Reliabilty puts me off.

Focus ST - Looks to common, the buzz will soon wear off methinks.

Mustang - Never driven one, but the hassle of imports plus LHD. cba with 5k conversion

Impreza's / Evo's - Nice cars, ten to the penny though.

Any other sugestions? Something not seen that often, quite a bit of muscle and something a bit classier. Bazzed up Clio's aint really my thing.

Thanks in advance.

Once again they're all to common though aint they?

So are most cars, even if you get an M3 there will be thousands of BMW M kitted cars. The boxster is a great sports car you may even get a Boxster S which is rarer. ;)

Actually i should've said... Can anyone think of a good enough reason for me to not get a 350Z?

I just know if i'd gone ahead an got one ppl would turn around and gimme the whole "Coulda got a lot more for ya money" treatment :s

E46 M3.

Dump your common thing.

If a £20k performance car is not common, it will be becuase:

a) It is basically rubbish
b) It is mind blowingly expensive to run
c) It was built/imported in very small numbers and is thus hard to find etc.
d) It was achingly expensive when new, and usually cars like this are very old @ 20k - thinking 80's Ferraris here.

It isnt really that easy to make a fantastic car with all the good points and then have nobody buy it. Boxsters, M3's etc etc are everywhere for a reason, they are damn, damn good cars.

£20k will get you a 2.7, maybe a 3.2 Boxster. They are absolutely brilliant, in every way. Forget about the "poor 911" rubbish, only a complete tard would actually think this.

my mum has had her 3.2 S for about a year, and nothing has gone wrong with it. Servicing is a bit steep, but it is a Porsche. Its a great everyday sports car.

prolly because they are quite expensive..

350z's are extremely capable cars, (dons evo jacket) they rate it highly, infacxt as well, or better than the new TT 3.2.

the only thing i can see wrong with it is that its a bit bloaty weighing in at 1500kg. but it does have a mighty fine 3.5 V6 (read around its one of the best engines around apparently). it has style and good handling to boot, as well as multilink all round suspension.

lots of nismo parts too, incase u want to nismo it up.

Yeah they are nice cars. I've got a mate with a 2.7 and a friend that used to have a 3.2 with Aerokit. I'm feeling a lotta German love on ere tbh :P 350Z is a lot more agressive looking though imo... Hmmmm the thinking continues....

If there was 20k in my pocket I reckon it'd be an M3, 350Z, Boxster S with maybe an Impreza/Evo in there for good measure.
