Arrg, fuel leak!

Soo, got back into my car today after 2 or 3 days, and theres a faint smell of petrol. Check under and it seems to be leaking from the fuel tank, not loads, but quite a bit.

Is there anything immediate I need to / can do to stop the leak? Garage first thing tomorrow I guess?

it could be the fuel filter rather than the fuel tank, best way to check that is to start her up and see if the fuel pump kicking in makes petrol **** out

if its a small leak and on the tank itself you can try chewing gum... as mad as it sounds. It stopped my leak for a bit until i fixed it. (assuming your leak is on your tank and the hole isnt huge)

Is it carb or injection? Where's the leak? From one of the fuel lines or the tank itself?

Havent looked in too much detail yet - will have a good peak, but it seemed like at least half the bottom of the tank was wet, and dripping.

Advisable not to drive it?? Its on the street in the middle of Bristol, and i'd better get it home lol.
