I really thought this would be the year i'd get a chance to go for silver membership. It has been over 5 years on the waiting list / red membership and i'm dying for the chance to be able to buy a ticket for the weekend games. It's a pain in the arse not getting back home till gone 12 on a weeknight although i do love the champs league games. Anyone else in the same position as me who expected silver membership this year?

I presume i'll just get sent an option in the post to be a silver member when it eventually happens? I might try getting through to the members line and see if they can tell me where i am in the queue.

You can't buy tickets unless you're a silver member? That's harsh... With ONE United, anyone can try and buy tickets for any games.

Nah, you can buy tickets at either level, but they go to Silver first (before Red), and there's a fair few people at that level as it is, so by the time it gets to Red there's not always much left. Weekend tickets just sell quicker for obvious reasons.

I thought we might get upgraded as well but obviously not.

Arsenal's ticket system has to be one of the worst in the country.

Just joined Red this season. Hopefully get a few tickets that way so I don't have to get the bus.

I think some of the problem is that a x% of season tickets had to go to local people

Slightly OT, but I'm looking to go down and watch at least one match this season at the new stadium. What are my chances of obtaining a ticket?

Cool, I'll try get down for a midweek CL game or something. Don't want it affecting my Barnsley attendance now do we ;) lol

Had a red membership a couple of years back but it never really did much for me, especially as it only allowed me to buy one ticket to the few matches that made it to Red Members.. so i let it lapse. Have signed up again this season in the hopes that the bigger stadium will give me more chance, and i now have a couple of mates with red memberships too.

No idea how they figure out the Silver Membership upgrades, but i would have thought if you've been a red member for 3+ seasons the extra capacity should see you offered the chance to upgrade this season.

I've been a red member for a few years. Last year loads of games went on sale to red members but you've got to be quick to get them.

I've been a red member for a number of years now and I too was expecting to get offered silver membership this year. How wrong was I! If you ring up the membership hotline they'll tell you what position you are in the queue. Brace yourself because I was 18,000 off becoming silver! Disaster!

On a positive note it should be much easier to red members to get ticket for Arsenal matches this season. If the DB10 testimonial went on sale to red members with a restricted 54000 capacity (6000 not used taken from red and silver allocation) then you should be able to get a ticket for almost any match excluding the Man U, Chel, Spurs, Pool and maybe some champions league nights.

It's also worth reporting touts as once the ticket number has been passed to the club they'll cancel the membership and move you one position up the ladder!

Isnt the stadium going to be filled with your plethora of Strikers? :)

It does sound a very harsh system, any stats showing the number of red/silver members? That would help you make a decision?

As far as I'm aware here's the stats:

Away fans must get a minimum of 5% (3,000)

Silver members currently 24,000
Old season ticket holders at highbury 22,000
New season ticket holders at least 6,000
Club Level season ticket holders 7,200

Total season tickets holder 35,200 plus 3000 away fans = 38,200 plus directors boxes and corporate jazz must make it about 40,000

24,000 silver then have a month to secure one of about 20,000 tickets before red membership get their chance

Just got my first Red Membership this season, is it possible to buy more than 1 ticket on one membership as I don't fancy going down on my own this season when I do get ticket.

I'm afraid not. I'm sure if you post on here you could meet up with some of the Gooners before the game for a few scoups.

Finally got through, im in position 4023 although it may be lower than that as the systems aren't all up-to-date with all the extra from the new stadium apparently. Still got a 2 year wait minimum really i think :(.

Cheer up, I reckon you'll be in like Flynn next season.
