As from today Chrome appears borked for lots of users

Some people just want to get on with their business with the minimum of fuss and interference and do it as quickly as possible out of the box . FF is for people that tend to like pimping and meddling...I did once. I chose Chrome when it came out because it fulfilled that criteria of just letting me get on with my browsing without seemingly constant update announcements and not being 'chatty'. Having said that I am using FF-variant Waterfox as an occasional alternative which is nearly as fast but it's comparatively slow scrolling which is a niggle to me. Text loses more visual focus whilst scrolling as well. Each to their own...we all have different priorities as to what really matters. ;)
 
Firefox is dang slow with all those addons.

Chrome is fine for me on W7 and my Nexus 7.

I have trouble with Chrome on my S3 but that's because I'm running an AOSP rom with bugs.
