Decided it's about time I purchased a new camera, only want something point and shoot, main criteria is that it's pocket sized, after a while browsing review after review (here http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews.php ), I think I've narrowed it down to either a Canon Ixus 70, Fuji F40 or Ricoh R6, I quite fancy the Ixus because it's tiny, but the Ricoh has 7x zoom and anti shake shenanigans, and the fuji has more megapixels.

These are all roughly the same price, I'm not too sure, I would have tried searching the forum but it's broken right now.

At the moment I'm leaning towards the Canon, but would value some input from anyone with experience with any of these, maybe some sample pictures too.

Tis not about megapixels unless you want to print out A2 images; anything over 5 is really good. For me, well I would go for either the Canon or Fuji. If the Fuji has 'face recognition' I would be tempted; had a play with a little Fuji point and click at a photography show in Birmingham a few months back and have to say I was very impressed.

I don't think you'd be disapointed with any of them, compact digitals in that price range are all much of a muchness. I recently got my Girlfriend a Cannon Ixus 70 and it is a very nice piece of kit feels and looks a lot more expensive than it is and seems very fast and responsive (also has face detection that seems to work better than fuji's). Had it been for me I would probably have got a fuji f31fd as the low light performace is better I'd go that over the f40 as it has a few more manual options. Never seen or used the rioch so won't comment on it.
