Well started on an upgrade of my system
I decided to reuse as much as possible so purchased an ASRock 775i65G and a Conroe 2.13 enables me to resuse my DDR RAM PSU and AGP card.
Checked the manual b4 I bought RAM support seemed to be ok all the timming settings where there.
Installed my Corsair TwinX XMS 3700 I know this RAM was good for 252MHz@3,4,4,8 on my old Abit 875 based board.
All I can say is gutted the ASRock will not let me select CAS3 like the manual says I can!! only CAS2 or 2.5 thanks to my RAM I have hit an overclocking wall at FSB282 my resultant RAM freq is [email protected],3,3,5 I had to tighten the timings just to make this a little easier to swallow.
Anyway what can u expect for £30 It would be nice if the BIOS options actually were the same as what the manual says they are.
So stuck at 2.26GHz with my Conroe still it crushes my old P4 [email protected]
Guess I'd better start saving for some DDR2 a PSU Mobo and GFX board.
