ASROCK X79 EXTREME 9 QUAD ISSUES

Hello there im new to the forums so be gentle with me
im trying to build a new rig and im having trouble with the x79 board
first board i had from asrock did not work in crossfire so rma the board
new one turns up crossfire now works yippee:cool::cool:
but now error code 67 and no quad memory working!!!
first 4 slots are fine for duel channel but soon as i try to populate second bank
pc screen is dead,if i take out the dimm from that bank the screen will work ?
quad channel worked fine in the board i rma
i am running 3820 cpu and 16 gb vengeance ram 4 sticks
im thinking another bad board

ps i have latest bios and have reset cmos and jumper

hope someone can shed some light thanks

Are you using the correct banks for quad? If it's the same as my big bang you need slots 1, 3 , 5 & 7 for quad with 4 sticks, the manual will show which configurations will work.

That said x79 isn't a massive fan of vengeance...

Error Code 67 means the system is halting during memory training. This is often true with vengeance line of RAM on the complicated X79 quad channel format.

Have you tried booting with one stick setting up XMP then adding one stick at a time till you get quad channel.

That said Corsair Dominator or GSKILL RipjawZ are the most compatible on this platform.
