Hi i just finished the story in AC and i thought id say how bloody amazing the game is! It has its weaknesses like a little repetitive in places and some of the voice acting is over used making it feel fake but its all minor compared to the joys of ascending a huge monolith to sample the incredible vista that is its prize! the subtle pleasures from just riding through the kingdom and taking on the occasional templar and associates while contemplating the words of the master and trying to fathom the increasingly complex plot is pure gaming heaven.

the end was great totally left me wanting more, much like the ending in say shenmue... ahhh what a game that was! i guess these games are similarly driven in RPG and combat although the combat in AC is by far some of the most satisfying i have ever tried to perfect! Once you attain the final rank 9 status pulling off combos and counters while surrounded by over 30 enemies is just freekin' awesome!

i just bought my PS3 a week ago along with a nice 19" LG HD-TV and i have been playing AC solidly since, even though i own drakes fortune, COD4 and the orange box the best game for me was AC! not into the others as yet and thats pretty stiff competition!!

well i hope others enjoyed it as much, if so you can always let me know and post your thoughts or best bits! some of the later assassinations are just awesome! :)

Me too. I can see why people wouldn't like it but I was genuinely blown away. It's probably one the best looking game of the generation with a sense of scale that blows everything else out the water.
 
I completely agree with OP, one of the most enjoyable games I've played this year. The animations and general graphics are simply superb. Just feels so 'next gen' like a mix of Shadow of Colossus and Crackdown. Story was pretty cool, not as repetitive as I expected from reviews and I can't wait to see what happens in the sequel.
 
i loved this game, the story, controls and graphics are all very well done. It is true that it is pretty linear though, but the game is pretty short anyway :p
 
can only agree - awesome game, and i think if you take your time and savour it, it doesnt really be come that repetitive.

Wrapped around the most boring levels this gen has seen. How they made a game where you slaughter people in the times of the crusades boring I will never know.

Great idea, poor delivery.
 
I agree with everything the OP said. The game has its flaws but its fantastic fun. There's a bit of repetition but the acquisition of additional skills always gave each assassination a new twist.

Personally I can't wait for AC2.
 
I too enjoyed it. I was going to give it a 9/10 when I reviewed it but never did get around to finishing it lol. I had a blast playing the game and didn't find it repetitive at all.
