Obviously talking .22's here.

Does anyone have any good contacts for places which might have good stocks of second-user assault rifles?

There is a gun shop near to me which my landlord uses for his rifles and ammunition, but i cant help feeling that it might be worth having an ask around, as i might be able to save money elsewhere.

Google doesnt turn up much other than a couple of small notice boards which dont seem to have much of a user base - surely more people must have rifles for sale than this? I am new to the whole game, my landlord is the only other person i know with a firearms certificate and he has always bought new and kept every weapon he's ever bought.

Many thanks.

Your sig says "In the sticks (Nr Newbury). Is that Hungerford by any chance? If so I would have thought guns were the last thing you would be able to buy....

:D

are .22's classified as 'assault' rifleS?

Looking at and considering all types of semi automatic rifles. I'd like a choice and although the local gun shop presents a choice, they seem very pricey compared with prices floating around the net for 2nd user .22 semi auto's.

First of all, where is near Newbury? Simply because im from Newbury :D

Secondly, you can buy automatic .22 rifles. Go to Bisley, im sure some people there will show you the ones that they own. As for where to buy them i cant be sure im afraid. If you have a valid FAC, go to a gun shop, there is one in thatcham and enquire there. Thats about all i can offer im affraid :)

My house is near peasemore and leckhamstead. Just north of newbury.

By automatic Rich1988 is meaning fully automatic, which is not legal. Do you have any contact details for the one in thatcham? :)

I know but thats what an assault rifle is isnt it?

No, assault rifles are not fully automatic, machine guns usually are though. For example, the M16 does not have an automatic fire mode, not since Vietnam. Some M4's do, however, but then again these are carbines, not assault rifles :)

On a sidenote, a .22 version of one sounds interesting, any pics perhaps? :D

http://www.guntrader.co.uk/ presuming you mean FAC, semi auto .22's are ok not as good bolt actions, good for prolific bunny bashing though. :D

Many thanks for this link, i have access to bolt action rifles as well, but fancy a decent semi auto for the good old "bunny bashing" as you say :)

The only thing with the semi autos is that they are a bit fussy with ammo, they tend to jam up with some sub sonics but are fine with stingers etc, but thats just my experience. One thing for sure is that they always jam when you see a fox. :(

"Assault rifle" is a completely worthless term anyway, since it's so vague and so loaded.

Agreed, but i am sure people can get the jist of what i am after, which was simply an online trading ground for 2nd user semi auto's. I am not overly choosey and know little about guns in the scheme of things. I just fancy something that looks good and will be a bit of fun. :)

Amatex - to be honest i wouldnt know as i have little experience in different weapons, i havnt had any issues with the landlords M4 carbine as yet, but then i havent mixed the ammo.
