Assetto Corsa heading to consoles in 2016

Looks like some nice new content for the PC soon and hopefully they have enough time to fill the game out with additional content before console release (as the promise of it coming straight after will likely be met with rage :p).

Hopefully it will actually be a game by then.

Aside from playing online or hot lapping, there's not a lot else to do. The rest of the game will need a lot more work to please console gamers that are used the sort of content Gran Turismo and Forza provide.

I have AC, pCARS and an IRacing subscription on PC and I still play Gran Turismo for its single player experience over anything else.

I agree, but GT for single player experience! OMG GT has the worst AI ever and not something that I'd play now for a single player experience.

Yes the AI rubbish in GT, but it is in AC and pCARS as well.

At least with GT there's the licences, Goodwood challenges and all the other content to keep you occupied. Plus there's the grinding aspect that can be rewarding in a weird way.

AC is a very good sim, but there's not much game and the car choice is probably it's biggest fault. Too many Lotus and GT3 cars, the PC has the advantage of adding modded cars for free, but it still doesn't make up the short fall.

Sorry, but the AI in Projects CARS is on a completely different level- when compared to that of GT.

GT's is poor and offer no challenge whatsoever. I'm looking forward to AC. Anything to apply more pressure on GTs next game to be an improvement.

Right now, PC is leading the way. On the console.

With regards to grinding. That concept is so played out. I find it boring and repetitive. Just give me all the cars I desire from the get go. So I can grind for faster lap times... Rather than having to drive a Honda Jazz for hours on end just so I can afford something a little faster.... I want a SIM. Not a pokemon'esq game

The AI in pCARS is like playing in a public online server. And I'm saying that as a €100 backer.

They dive bomb from miles back, they cut the track by massive amounts to get past. They try to run you off the track in practice sessions, they don't give a monkey's you are on a hot lap when leaving the pits. The only thing they don't do is drive the wrong way around the track. They also don't lap at consistent times.

There can can be 4 seconds difference in their times between, practice, qualifying and races. It's not track evolution either, they can be quick, slow, quicker. Or any combination of the three.

They also take some corners dangerously slow and other corners impossibly fast. Some of their brake points are half of what you have to do in the same car. Even if your lap time is quicker than theirs.

And most of this was pointed out before the game was released.

Like I said, they AI in most racing current sims is very poor one way or another.

I much prefer the physics / handling model of AC over PCars with a pad but like the others have said there isn't really much content at the moment.

Also, the 'ring is DLC which should be an imprisonable office in this day and age! (Especially when you consider how few tracks are actually available.)

Edit- its the same with the cars. 10 lotus Elise/exige / Evoras and not a huge amount else, with some more interesting cars locked out as DLC

Then the AI must differ from one track to the next.

Since purchasing the game I've spent many hours grinding for lap times and racing against the AI (@ 100% DIFFICULTY) at Watkins Glen and Donnington. I haven't once experienced any dive bombing. What I have experienced are great challenges... Challenges that I wished for years GT games would offer.

Back to AC. I know very little about this title. Have watched a few people playing it over the last year and looks decent enough.
