Oh I'm all for varied in character, was more down to overall lap time. Take say the F40 and the Taatus, imagine they're relatively close in laptime on your average track, with the F40 lack of cornering grip balancing out to its extra straight line speed, so not going to be passing each other on track constantly. Thinking back to brands, driving the escorts when F1 cars were about was a pain in the ass, I was getting lapped twice a lap by the same guy :p huge closing speeds make it frustrating for both.
It's the "warp speed" cars that are the problem, maybe keep them alongside really fast modern super cars. Then slow/classic cars with nothing faster than GT cars just to minimise that contrast whilst still having lots of variation?

Tbh, having F1 cars in with pretty much anything else will result in those closing speed issues. It's just more pronounced with cars like the Escort.

As long we can maintain a race and road selection on any given week, I'm sure we can sort something out :)

It's possible.
Were you thinking to lock them at stock or use setups sourced elsewhere?

Either, i would personally only lock set ups for 1 maybe 2 cars so there is a car anyone who doesnt have time to work on set ups that week.

as for suggestions, Donnington National layout if a good mod for it exists, Huracan GT3?? although it is from a dream pack

I have to say I have found this an issue at times but to be honest, over the course of a week I've found a lot of occasions where the server has been empty and it hasn't been a problem.

All I would say is use a bit of common racing sense and courtesy. If your on an outlap then lift and get off the racing line and let faster approaching cars pass, you can use the track map or the real-time in-game app for this info, also if you make a mistake and abort a lap and there is a faster car approaching or following near behind, don't try and get back on track or correct the car and continue at the same pace as before ruining the guy behinds lap (which did happen to me on a few occasions) but just let him through.

We will all find ourselves out on the track as either the slower car about to be lapped or the faster car approaching someone slower...with the difference in the pace of the cars being chosen it is inevitable this is going to happen, it's just about being mindful of others when lapping and managing it the best we can.

For me personally it might ruin a lap where I was a few tenths up on but that's the challenge for me, is to do it again and go even faster which is why I think I've relished the F1 car challenges as opposed to the slower cars, I'm an impatient kind of guy :D but love to be fast and precise, no understeer, no oversteer and no drifting just a plain simple fast well balanced setup car.

I do just that. 9 times out of 10 the lap I'm doing I've span or off the pace so when I notice a faster come approaching I just pull off the racing line or off the track completely. If anything it is more annoying when you're in a slower car and on a stonker of a lap and one of the faster cars does a crazy overtake and screws your line up :( but that's only because I don't get a clean lap in very often :D

Yeah that has happened to me a few times but then if you are on a stonker of a lap, don't move, I don't, I stay on the racing line, I apply the same principles here as in real-world racing (I know the speeds are relatively the same in real-world racing and not so much on the server) I only move over when I am not on a fast lap, on all other occasions I move out of the way as best I can, or try to.

We could put some kind of signaling in place, so where you are on a fast lap, put your lights on, I know not all cars have lights but those that do maybe we could use this, I don't know I'm just thinking outside the box here now of something that could help a little more

Love Donny - good pick!

Tried the Ginetta first - handled really nicely... yep, reckon I can work with that.

Then tried the GT86 - much slower and more wallowy, but really fun as it goes. Enjoyed it being a clutch/manual gears car too. Another car I can feel a few more laps being put in with :D

Lastly tried the Ferrari. Woah! That's a handful! It was drifting out loads on the faster sweeping bends, and in the slow corners the brakes were either locked up horribly, or if I dialled back the %force they felt like they weren't working... hmmm Help!

Ooh, nice selection. Definitely going to get stuck into this one.

The Ginettas are fun to watch at the BTCC. Single maeque race with rather young drivers haha.

are track conditions fixed to optimum for hot lapping?

had a few laps on this before work and im struggling to get within 4 seconds of my times from last night on the same set up, tyres dont seem to be getting as hot as they did last night either.

Yeah,I noticed something similar on Suzuka. The time of day is not fixed as at some times I couldn't see the blind right-hander because of the shadow. Had to use blind faith that I was going to hit the apex.
